Dvara here is the gateway that leads to “The Way” of Meditation and Prateep is The Inner Light  or The enlightened Mind Achieved from meditation practice. Located by the Chao Praya River bank, Koh Kred Island, Nonthaburi province (45 minute from airport or downtown hotel in Bangkok) where the  Thai national heritage has long been gradually cultivated, Baan Dvara-prateep built to be a bed & breakfast for the studying of the Thai culture. The  design of the house is based on the concept of simplicity, yet cozy and comfortable enough for one to embrace with the Thai way of living by the  riverside.   Baan Dvara-Prateep is a compound of wooden house standing on stilts attached to the bank of Chao Phaya River, embraced by a tranquil local  village, The house is simple but attractive and tastefully designed to stimulate the feeling of real relaxation. The only 11 bedroom house,  firstly aims for members of the family and friends, equipped with necessary amenities except TV refrigerator, and telephone. The multi-purpose room, opens to  nature, is spacious and gracefully designed. Beyond a home-stay experience, staying at Baan Dvara-prateep not only gives visitors charming, basic yet comforting, bed and breakfast  accommodation, but also gives them touches of cultural experiences at the same time. These can be through observation of routine river life of the  Thais and the Mon, the Buddhist traditional lifestyles and activities, the charming Thai flower arrangement, the local and regional history study and  even the study of stupa and its philosophy of the Buddhist teaching.
